FAQs

Where does the boat trip begin?

The boat trip starts at Applecross Basin, 1 Applecross Street, Glasgow, G4 9SP. This is a 15 minute walk from Cowcaddens Subway or a short taxi ride from city centre.

Is there parking?

Yes, parking is available next to the boat.

How many people are able to be on a boat trip?

The maximum number of customers on a boat trip is 12, this is for boat safety reasons. Young children count within this number.

Will there be other groups on the boat?

No, there will only be one group on a boat trip unless clearly stated and individual tickets have been sold.

Will I get sea sick?

The canal tends to be very still but can at times rock very slightly. Many previous customers who have been nervous about this have been surprised by how little they were affected.

Will tea and coffee be provided?

Yes, tea and coffee are provided on all of our boat trips. On the long trips we will also provide a cake!

Is there anywhere to eat nearby?

There is a nice little cafe on the canal at Spiers Wharf, Ocho, serving great food.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

Absolutely. There is a large table to lay your food out and a fridge to keep drinks cold. Alcoholic drinks are also allowed.

Do I need to bring anything to serve food on?

We have a kitchen stocked with cutlery and crockery. If possible please do not bring plastic plates and cutlery as this creates unnecessary waste.

Can I drive the boat?

Yes, customers are welcome to get involved with driving the boat and helping with ropes. All trips will have a skipper who will take you and will be happy to teach you how to drive. Feel free to drive as much as you like or simply sit back and watch the world go by.

We have an idea for something we would like to use your boat for but you don't have it listed, can we make special requests?

Certainly. We are happy to let you into the boat early to set up for a party or what ever else you may want for a boat trip. If you have a more far out idea for how you would like to use the boat get in touch and ask, the worst that can happen is we say no! Generally speaking however we will do all we can to accommodate your needs.
